When you see them at chapter events, please congratulate them on their accomplishment.

When I read in Notions magazine that a pattern magazine
inspired by the clothes from the PBS show “Downton Abbey” was
going to be published, I was excited to see what that would be.
The publication is from the editors of Stitch magazine and
features more than 40 patterns. The magazine not only offers
clothes patterns, but also some home dec projects as well.
The clothes patterns are not from the show but fashion inspired
from the series. There are elegant gowns such as a bias-cut
evening gown, flapper dress and jewel neckline top. It is good to see a more modern
do that. I especially liked the black lace tabard which is shown over a short evening
dress. Another view is a shorter tunic length option in cotton that would look just as
good over jeans or leggings.
There are also jackets, pants and toppers you could incorporate into your everyday
The other benefit to the magazine is showing men’s and children’s clothes. The kid’s
clothes are a sailor jacket and knickers which are not practical, everyday wear for kids,
but they would work for a special occasion or a costume.
You’ll also find bags, tops, tea cozies, table runners and pillows in this magazine. So,
there is a little something for everyone. There are full patterns included along with the
instructions for all of the projects shown.
The magazine is $14.99. I’ve seen it in fabric stores and bookstores like Barnes &
